Procrastination pays!

So there is this horrid requirement for my Political Science minor that I’ve put off until the last minute. The class is “Data Analysis for Political Science.” Yep, statistics—though mild, statistics nonetheless. I was planning to take it in either Winter Session or Spring Semester—at the very last possible time before graduation.

I’ve been worried about this class since I added the minor—not because I couldn’t pass it, but because I would be sure to get a B or lower. I need as many A’s as possible to get my GPA up to a 3.0 before finishing—it’s currently 2.969! The class is also a burden—meeting every single day, usually at 8am!

At any rate, today I find an “error” on my Academic Progress Report, saying all requirements had been met or were in progress for the minor. Not true, I knew—I still need that Data Analysis class and another 400 level course which I’ll be signing up for Friday.

So I called, a bit worried and hopeful at the same time that something had changed in the requirements. Well it had! Data Analysis IS NO LONGER REQUIRED FOR MINORS! Only majors!

I was so happy tears came to my eyes! Thank you higher being! Thank you lower beings—whoever or whatever, made this possible! You like me…you really like me! (Sorry, Sally Field!)

The moral of the story today, boys and girls: Procrastination pays!
